HOTELS IN ATHENS, GEORGIA

Hotels in Athens-Clarke, Georgia: Athens offers the visitor many interesting things and one of these is the Athens Food Tour; this is a walking tour of food and drink that lasts about three hours but you do stop off at 6 to 8 places of interest to eat, drink, and have entertainment.

There are guided tours and self guided tours for you to use from the Welcome Centre. Big Dogs on the River is the only river trip on this bus shuttle. If you like sports then a trip to the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall Sports Museum may be for you; this offers you a chance to see the greatest moments in Georgia sports.

There is an interesting Carter-Coile Country Doctor’s Museum to see and this is a medical office with the original instruments. Church-Waddel-Brumby is one of the four house museums and is in the style of the Federal house; it is thought to be the oldest residence of this city.

There is a lot to see here. They even have a wing dedicated to the 1996 Olympic Games. Centennial Olympic Park was home to the 1996 Olympic Games and has the largest Olympic ring fountain.

Here you can walk around and see the park then if you have time book up with City Segway Tours, they allow children, over the age of 12 years, to ride as well and you can glide around Atlanta with tours such as the Legends and lore Tour or the Evening Glide tour.

There is the 48 mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River that is designed to not just preserve the river but offer the family outdoor fun.

There are 12 golf courses near so the golfer can be spoilt for choice here.
