Hotels in Anchorage, Alaska: I am sure there are warmer places to go, but should you find yourself visiting Anchorage Alaska you will want a warm place to stay.

You will probably be surprised by the amount of sights and activities in Anchorage. The temperature is an obvious factor, as is the day and night cycle (this close to the Arctic), so there are different activities and sights dependent on the winter summer cycle.

During the summer the night is still fairly light and in the winter it is quite dark, even at mid-day.

This hotel boasts some very modern amenities, whilst still maintaining a classic, comfortable, style. All the rooms have a coffee maker, with free tea and coffee, an iron and ironing board, and a clock radio.

For convenience and entertainment they also have a large TV with digital cable channels, a large writing desk and chair, a private bathroom with a supply of Aroma botanical products. The hotel provides free local calls and high speed internet is available, you can even have a microwave in your room, upon request.

During your stay you will be able to take advantage of the free luxury continental breakfast, which is served from 6am to 10am. The hotel also has a convenience store and gift shop. The general amenities, available for all guests, include; high speed wireless internet, a 24 hour concierge, on site dry cleaning, parking (for a daily fee), and wheelchair accessible rooms (check specific requirements when booking).

For the business trip there is an event space and the hotel can arrange AV equipment and catering. On top of this there is also a copier Fax facility and multilingual staff. For that little extra convenience you can have, a safety deposit box, wake up calls and a free newspaper.

For eating out there is the rumrunners old towne bar & grill across the street and should you want an extra special souvenir then the largest gift shop in Alaska, Grizzly’s gifts, is in the same building. This gift shop is reputed to carry the largest number and greatest variety of gifts, in Alaska, some of which are practically unique.

The hotel will help you to plan any adventures you wish to partake in, and some of the available attractions are; Adventure & Eco tours, Alaska fishing or ice fishing, dependent on season. In the summer you can go bird watching, berry picking, play golf at midnight (as it is still light enough), hiking, hunting, rafting & canoeing, and if you feel lucky you can even pan for gold.

In winter the events change a little but are still good fun, if somewhat colder. You can go ice skating or play ice hockey, go skiing, sledding, snowboarding, or if you like power there is always a snowmobile. Add to all this the opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis (the northern lights) and you could find yourself holidaying in Alaska for years to come.
